I have finished reading student guide, I understand all the policies, and the advices from teacher and students. I have no question at all. To be honest at first I thought this class was more of grammar, vocabulary improvement because my grammar is not that good, and I need to know more vocabulary. But surprisingly I was wrong, now I know this class is to improve my writing skills and to understand that writing is more than just to write but to express your ideas, your says on a paper, web..etc. Right now I am trying to say things I want on this blog, and I know I might have some grammar mistakes already. So, from this class I am hoping to improve my writing more, and my understanding of them, and to use them correctly. What I am saying might sound boring but trust me when I find a subject to talk about, it gets interesting, and this class is going to make me do better.
The student guide I have read is interesting especially when I read the part of advice from student and teachers. Most of them say keep writing, go over your limit. They do make sense, I have always been afraid if I write something that might be too much and people will say uh? what? So I always make sure I do not do that, but then I have learned from this guide is it is depends on the audience, situations, and the context that will have people be interested. I know that now, I have always struggle with what to have them to read my story, poetry. This guide is helpful, and syallbus is helpful too because I know what the teacher expects from us, and her rules. I agree with the attendance, and paying attention in class, well I am quiet person I never, never interupt teachers while they are talking, I always take note, I am willing to try to understand.
Yes, this class focuses on much more than grammar. Even if someone’s grammar is perfect, they might not be writing clearly. The focus for this class will be taking ideas and communicating them well—which only partly includes grammar.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you pointed out the advice section. I think both the students and the teachers hone in on what can make this class valuable.
